Description
It is used to prepare DNA samples for loading on agarose or polyacrylamide gels. The buffer solution contains three dyes, bromophenol blue, xylene cyanol and orangeG, for visual tracking of DNA migration during electrophoresis. The presence of glycerol in the buffer ensures sample to form a layer at the bottom of the well.
Application
In 1% agarose gels orange G co-migrates with~50 bp DNA, bromophenol blue with 300bp , while xylene cyanol co-migrates with ~4000 bp .
